• Place the xp cd in your cd/dvd drive
• Go to start
• run
• type in 'sfc /scannow' (without the ')

Use Samsung E1410 as Modem

Samsung's one of the best value for money phone can be used to serve as a modem. The steps are:

Using Airtel Mobile Office:

1. Activate Mobile office manually in your sim as airtel doesn't support configuration for e1410. Manual setting are:

PROFILE NAME: Mobile Office

HOMEPAGE: http://www.google.com

IP ADDRESS: 202.56.231.117

PORT: 8080

APN: airtelgprs.com

2. Now activate unlimited gprs plan - Rs.19 for 3 days(200 MB Limit) or Rs.98 for 30 days(2 GB limit)

3. Connect your USB bluetooth dongle to computer (that is what i used).

4. Pair the mobile phone with your computer with the help of dongle.

5. Now OS will start the 'Found New Hardware Wizard' as soon as the devices are paired.

6. When the phone's modem is suitably installed, go to : START -> control panel -> Phone and

modem options -> Modems -> {Select your mobile's modem, will have any name containing bluetooth word}

7. Select properties -> Advanced

8. Type the following in 'Extra Initialization Commands':

AT+CGDCONT=1,"IP","airtelgprs.com"

9. Now create a new internet connection:

i) START -> CONNECT TO -> SHOW ALL CONNECTIONS

ii) Select: New Connection Wizard

iii) Next

iv) Connect to Internet

v) Setup my connection manually

vi) Connect using a dial up modem

vii) Select you mobile's modem (NOTE)

viii) ISP Name - Airtel

ix) Phone Number - *99#

x) No user name and password. Click Next

xi) FINISH

10. Now Connect to the connection whch you have just made and ENJOY!!
